Top 5 Companies to Watch in CES Asia 2018

The Asian edition of the popular Consumer Electronics Show will open its doors for the 4th time in Shanghai tomorrow at CES Asia 2018. The exhibition will span three days from June 13 – 15 and showcase the newest technologies by over 500 companies from 80 countries.

This year’s four major show topics include vehicle technology, artificial intelligence (AI), mobile, as well as augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR). Other categories of interest that are sure to make an appearance include 5G networks, smart cities and homes, video gaming, 3D printing, robotics and more.

Baidu

At CES 2018 in Las Vegas, Baidu held “Baidu World @ Las Vegas” to unveil their work with AI, specifically in the areas of autonomous driving and smart homes. The press conference was hosted by Baidu COO and AI expert, Lu Qi who has since resigned. At this year’s CES Asia, Baidu is expected to announce new updates for their autonomous driving platform Apollo as well as for their AI-powered DuerOS and its respective compatible smart home devices.

Alibaba A.I. Labs

As the biggest R&D spender in China, Alibaba announced their plans to develop a Bluetooth mesh module at CES 2018 earlier this year. The head of Alibaba A.I. Labs is scheduled to give a keynote speech on June 14 to discuss the next generations of Alibaba‘s AI innovations.
