Li Auto Starts Phase II of Beijing Industrial Park Project

Chinese vehicle manufacturer Li Auto started the second phase of construction on Tuesday for an industrial park in Beijing’s Shunyi Science Park. The project, with a total investment of about 1.3 billion yuan ($193.4 million) and a total area of 58,600 square meters, is expected to be completed by the end of 2023.

The firm says that Phase II of this project is characterized by energy conservation, environmental protection, modernity, science and technology, and new energy. It uses a glass curtain wall as the facade of the building and partially adopts an aluminum veneer curtain wall, thus creating a modern atmosphere for the new energy automobile industry.

In recent years, Beijing’s Shunyi District has hosted new operations of five major vehicle manufacturers, including Beijing Hyundai, BAIC Benz New Energy, BAIC Orv, Beijing Green Intelligent Factory of Li Auto and Jinghuan Equipment. Nine R&D and design enterprises, including BMW China R&D Center, Beijing Automotive Technology Center, Li Auto R&D Headquarters and Electric Vehicle Engineering Technology Center of BIT Huachuang, have also settled in Shunyi District, with 150 parts and components enterprises in the whole area.

Shunyi has formed a new industrial ecology led by R&D and design, based on the manufacturing of complete vehicles and core components, and extended by auto finance, auto sales, shared travel and automated driving.

In November 2020, Li Auto‘s headquarters officially commenced operations in the Shunyi Science Park. In October 2021, construction of the Li Auto Beijing Green Intelligent Factory started in Shunyi, and the Phase II of the Li Auto Industrial Park, which is the industrial R&D office center of Li Auto Green Intelligent Factory, was also completed.
