On Friday, IThome quoted the latest data from tech analysis firm Canalys, showing that in the third quarter of 2021, the global shipment of wearable wristband devices reached 47.82 million units, down 11% year-on-year, while Apple has returned to first place with sales of 7.33 million units.
In addition, the data show that Xiaomi ranked second in the global market during the period, slightly lower than Apple with 7.21 million units shipped and a market share of 15%. Huawei ranked third, shipping 5 million units for a market share of 11%. Samsung and Fitbit ranked fourth and fifth with 4.23 million units and 3.71 million units, respectively, representing market shares of 9% and 8%.
In the Chinese mainland market, the top five brands are Huawei, Xiaomi, XTC, Apple and Honor, with market shares of 31%, 19%, 10%, 5% and 4%, respectively.
In the Asia-Pacific region, the top five brands are Samsung, Apple, Noise, Xiaomi and boAt, with 14%, 12%, 12%, 11% and 10%, respectively.
Earlier, He Gang, COO of Huawei’s consumer business, said that cumulative global shipments of Huawei’s smart wearable devices have exceeded 80 million units. At the same time, average monthly global users of the firm’s Sports Health App have reached more than 83 million, and the total cumulative service users in the world have exceeded 320 million.
