Yihang.ai’s Navigate-on-Autopilot Scheme Enters Market

Yihang.ai, an automated driving startup, held a press event on Tuesday during which it introduced its NOA (navigate on autopilot) integration scheme for driving and parking.

Yihang.ai was established in August 2015, focusing on independent research and development of automatic driving systems, and it has attracted investment from well-known venture capital institutions such as Jingwei Venture Capital, CICC Capital and Source Code Capital. The firm’s main customers have included Li Auto, WM Motor, and SAIC MAXUS.

The NOA system of Yihang.ai was developed based on two Texas Instruments TDA4s. Compared with the mass production NOA schemes of other brands in the market, the cost of Yihang.ai’s product can be reduced by about 50%, with the price of the whole system totaling less than 10,000 yuan ($1,499.7), covering the 150,000 yuan ($22,481.7) vehicle range, which is popular in China.

In terms of sensing hardware, the NOA scheme of Yihang.ai adopts five millimeter wave radars, 11 cameras and 12 ultrasonic radars. Among the 11 cameras, seven are used for driving and four fish eye cameras are used for parking, which can achieve centimeter-level control accuracy.

Yihang.ai’s product has 16 driving functions and 10 parking functions. The driving functions include automatic overtaking, automatic road network switching, and ramp driving. The parking functions include 1,000-meter memory parking.

At present, Yihang.ai Full Self Driving (FSD) is under research and development and will reportedly be mass-produced in Q4 of this year. The computing platform of the system adopts two NVIDIA Orin chips, and the sensing hardware includes five millimeter wave radars, 11 cameras and three Lidars, and the system will not rely on HD-Maps in urban areas in the future.
