Xpeng Debuts Air-enabled Tech, Offering Free Supercharging and Battery Leasing Plan

Leading Chinese EV manufacturer Xpeng Motors announced free supercharging benefits and a battery leasing plan for customers as well as debuted its air-enabled tech at the 2020 Beijing International Automobile Exhibition (Auto China 2020) that kicked off on Sept. 26.

For the first time, Xpeng vehicle owners can enjoy 3,000 kWh free supercharging benefits per vehicle every year. Partnering with charging providers including State Grid, China Southern Power Grid, TELD, and Star Charge Orange Energy, the company expanded its supercharging network as well as sought to expand the charging stations from the current 24 cities to 60 at the end of 2020 and to 200 cities by the end of the second quarter of 2021.

Spanning 7 years, Xpeng’s battery leasing plan allows customers to lease 60,000 yuan to 75,000 yuan of the battery price with a monthly repayment between 780 yuan to 980 yuan per unit, helping purchasers significantly reduce their up-front purchasing costs.

Xpeng Heitch, the air-enabled EV tech, was another highlight of the launch event.

After 7 years of development, Xpeng Heitech has earned 15 proprietary intellectual property copyrights, contributing to the electrically-driven air-enabled multi-dimensional transportation and defining the relevant regulations as a leader in this realm.

The first-generation prototype of Xpeng Heitch on display at Auto China 2020 is optimized for the low-altitude level ranging from 5 meters to 25 meters with a 2 passenger capacity. After over 10,000 safety tests, the prototype ranked first for the highest test numbers in China.
