Xiaomi Car has announced a number of adjustments to its senior management team. Huang Zhenyu, the Vice President of the Automotive Division, will now also serve as the General Manager of the Auto Supply Chain Department, reporting to the CEO of the Automotive Division, Lei Jun.
Huang Zhenyu is a senior executive poached by Xiaomi from the auto parts industry. He previously served as the Vice President of Magna, a global supplier, in the China region. He is a career professional in the auto industry and boasts extensive experience. Following the transfer of the supply chain business to Huang Zhenyu, the focus of Xiaomi‘s Vice President of the Automotive Division, Li Xiaoshuang, has shifted to market operations. Li Xiaoshuang will also serve as the General Manager of the Auto Marketing Department, reporting to the CEO of the Automotive Division, Lei Jun.
In addition, there has been a change in Qin Zhifan’s position. He has been appointed as the Deputy General Manager of the Auto Marketing Department, reporting to Li Xiaoshuang. Both Li Xiaoshuang and Qin Zhifan are long-standing employees of Xiaomi. Li Xiaoshuang was the General Manager of Xiaomi Group’s Home Appliances Division, and Qin Zhifan is an early employee of Xiaomi. They are both part of Xiaomi Car’s core team of 17 members.
Interestingly, there were recent reports that Lei Jun had poached a senior executive, Wen Fei, from Great Wall Motors to serve as the marketing head, replacing the former executive Zhou Jing who had resigned. However, it appears that this is not the case, and the marketing operations of Xiaomi Car are still in the hands of core Xiaomi personnel.
Currently, the related operations of Xiaomi Car are progressing in an orderly manner. The first car is expected to officially roll off the production line next year. Whether it can make a splash in the fiercely competitive market remains to be seen.
