Chinese smartphone maker Vivo released new flagship NEX 3 5G smartphone on September 16 in Shanghai. Vivo has created a device that is fully capable of embracing the 5G future, featuring the latest in performance and display technology. Vivo has also released a 4G variant, equipped with the same specs.
For performance, the NEX 3 5G features the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset with UFS 3.0 flash memory. Aside from a vapor cooling system to effectively dissipate heat, the NEX 3 also comes with a standard battery capacity of 4,500mAh while also supporting Super FlashCharge 44W charging.
In terms of appearance, Vivo have given the NEX 3 a 6.89-inch Super AMOLED display with curved edges that the company is dubbing “waterfall” display, giving the device an impressive screen-to-body ratio of 99.6%. The NEX 3 can be unlocked with an in-display fingerprint scanner. Vivo has also replaced the typical side button with a pressure sensor, dubbed Touch Sense, on the back of the phone for seamless accessibility.
On photography, the NEX 3 features a triple-lens setup encased in a circular module on the back of the device, dubbed the Lunar Ring. Complete with a 64-megapixel primary camera, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide, and a 13-megapixel telephoto, the NEX 3 is capable of delivering robust photography in a variety of situations. For the selfie camera, Vivo is also using the popular pop-up frontal camera with a 16-megapixel lens. The camera also boasts EIS image stabilization technology to allows for steady video recording on the move.
The Nex 3 also comes with an AI assistant, Jovi, to increase the convenience of the user experience from making and answering calls to setting reminders.
In terms of pricing, the 4G version of the NEX 3 is priced at 4,998 yuan. The 5G version prices at 5,698 yuan for 8+256GB, and 6,198 yuan for 12+256GB.
