TikTok Retains Its Crown as World’s Most Downloaded Short Video App, Other Chinese Apps Follow

According to data from Sensor Tower Store Intelligence, several Chinese short video/live broadcast applications made it into the Top 20 of Apple’s App Store and Google Play in terms of downloads and revenue outside mainland China during the second quarter of 2019.

TikTok remained the front runner, with downloads totaling 143 million, down 17.3 percent compared with the first quarter, mainly due to a reduction in downloads in India and the United States. However, in Southeast Asia, TikTok’s download numbers continue to climb rapidly, increasing 23.7 percent to 20.5 million.
