Honor of Kings, an online game produced by Tencent, announced an upgrade to its anti-addiction measures on Tuesday, in which underage users can only play games from 20:00 to 21:00 on Fridays, weekends and holidays.

According to the announcement, users under the age of 12 cannot recharge their game time at all. Users between 12 and 16 years old can recharge 50 yuan maximum at one time and 200 yuan maximum for one month. For users aged 16 to 18, the upper limit of a single recharge is 100 yuan while a monthly recharge is 400 yuan.

After the system update, the stand-alone mode gameplay mode will be temporarily shuttered while the iOS visitor experience mode will be completely closed.

On August 30th, the National Press and Publication Administration slashed the amount of time players under the age of 18 can spend on online games. Those under the age of 18 can now only spend an hour playing online games on Fridays, weekends and holidays.
