SVOLT Releases SV 600 Strategy Aimed at Enhancing Battery Production Capacity to 600GWh by 2025

Chinese battery maker SVOLT released an SV 600 strategy and four supporting initiatives for 2025 at the 2nd Battery Day of SVOLT held on Wednesday. It also announced plans to raise 600GWh in production capacity by 2025, as well as launch new short blade product category.

To realize the strategic goal of production capacity, SVOLT proposes four supporting strategies, namely, Category Innovation, AI Ecological Intelligent Manufacturing Strategy, SVOLT-Chain Eco Strategy and Capital Co-Creation, which could effectively contribute to the SV 600 strategic goal in four dimensions of products, intelligent manufacturing, supply chain and capital.

Industry institutions predict that by 2025, the total demand for lithium batteries – used for electrification in transportation and energy storage in power – will exceed 1.8 TWh. SVOLT aims to occupy 25% of the global market share, and challenge the global capacity target of 600GWh according to a 75% capacity utilization rate.

Yang Hongxin, chairman and CEO of SVOLT, said at a press conference that the Short Blade category will become the most competitive battery products in the future. SVOLT will focus on the layout of short-blade batteries covering full-size products from L300-L600, and the global charging range from 1.6-4C, the application scenarios from passenger cars to energy storage, commercial vehicles, construction machinery, non-high-speed trams, and the global chemical system from cobalt-free, ternary to ferrous lithium phosphate.

In the future, SVOLT will launch L300 and L600 series of products, working at the passenger car market. In addition, different battery products will be launched for hybrid vehicles, commercial vehicles, energy storage, non-high-speed vehicles and other fields. SVOLT says its NCM short blade L600 battery based on jelly battery has passed the needle punch test without fire or smoke. In addition, its energy density is as high as 230Wh/kg.
