Remedy Entertainment Signs Agreement with Tencent for New Multiplayer Game Codenamed Vanguard

On Tuesday, Remedy Entertainment announced that it had signed a deal with Tencent to help develop,  license and distribute a new co-operative multiplayer game codenamed Vanguard.

Remedy Entertainment was founded in 1995 and is headquartered in Finland. It has developed games such as Control, Alan Wake and Max Payne.

The game, codenamed Vanguard, is Remedy’s own intellectual property. The game is a free-to-play, co-operative PvE shooter that combines the company’s narrative expertise and action gameplay into an immersive multiplayer experience. The game is developed with the Unreal Engine for PC and console platforms but is currently in the proof-of-concept phase. Its development budget up to the end of the first year of live operations will be in the scope of a typical Remedy AAA game budget.

Remedy will develop and publish the game worldwide, excluding selected Asian markets, where Tencent will step in to localize and publish the game.
