Redmi K50 Gaming Edition Smartphone to Be Released February 16

Chinese smartphone brand Redmi announced on Wednesday morning that its Redmi K50 Gaming Edition model will be officially released at 19:00 on February 16. At present, some details regarding configuration and pricing have been leaked, revealing that the device is expected to start at 3,499 yuan ($550).

In terms of its configuration, the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition includes a Snapdragon 8 Gen1 processor, the first CyberEngine linear motor and JBL dual speakers. It will also be equipped with a high refresh rate straight screen, covered with Corning Gorilla Victus glass and double VC liquid cooling for heat dissipation. With a built-in 4700 mAh battery, the Gaming Edition model will adopt 120W fast charging and the Surge P1 chip developed independently by Xiaomi.

Other specifications regarding the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition, such as its screen quality and gaming features, are left to be confirmed. There is still a week before the new product launch conference, and the brand is expected to provide updates with more information on the new model in the next few days.

The prices of previous models in the Redmi K50 series have been leaked before. The main model, or Redmi K50, will start from 1,999 yuan, the Redmi K50 Pro will start from 2,699 yuan and the Redmi K50 Pro+ is expected to start from 3,299 yuan. Finally, the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition will start at 3,499 yuan. However, given the brand’s high-quality yet affordable market positioning, it is expected that its price will be competitive, along with a higher performance, among smartphones equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor.
