Redmi K50 Extreme Edition Smartphone to Debut This Month

Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi announced on August 5 that the Redmi K50 Extreme Edition smartphone, the last model in the K50 series, will be launched this month.

Redmi claims the K50 Extreme Edition has the strongest performance in the K Series, equipped with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset.

According to a previously released network access certificate, this smartphone has a Snapdragon 8+ version and a Dimensity 9000+ version, with two storage options – 12GB+256GB or 8GB+128GB. It supports 120W super fast charging, and adopts the same fast charging scheme as the Redmi Note 11T Pro+ on sale. The 4400 mAh battery of the Note 11T Pro+ can be fully charged in 19 minutes. The battery capacity of the new device may become larger, and is expected to be capable of a full charge in about 20 minutes.

The Redmi K50 Extreme Edition smartphone is rumored to adopt a 6.67-inch flexible OLED screen, with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1920Hz PWM high-frequency dimming.

William Lu, a partner of Xiaomi and the general manager of Redmi, posted a long article today intended to spark interest in the new smartphone. He said that the Redmi K50 Extreme Edition has upgraded and optimized various experiences to make up for some minor drawbacks of the Redmi K50 Pro. Moreover, it uses brand-new heat radiation materials, which completely overcome problems encountered when playing intense games like Genshin Impact.
