Realme Releases New X2 Budget Smartphone With 64MP Quad-Cam Setup

Chinese smartphone maker Realme has launched their new X2 smartphone on September 24.

The X2 features a 6.4-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a waterdrop notch design and a 91.9% screen-to-body ratio, all encased in Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5. The phone was built with 3D curved glass and weighs just 182 grams, providing a light and comfortable feel. For unlocking, the X2 has an in-display fingerprint sensor.

In terms of performance, the OPPO sub-brand equipped the X2 with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730C processor, 8GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. The smartphone also boasts a large 4,000mAh battery and supports 30W VOOC 4.0 Flash Charge technology.

In the camera department, the X2 was designed in cooperation with National Geographic photographer Aaron Huey, and can capture images in a variety of settings with a quadruple camera setup, featuring a 64MP primary sensor with Samsung GW1 sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP 4cm macro lens. The front-facing selfie camera is a 32MP lens with a variety of beautifying effects and filters.

The X2 is priced at 1,499 yuan (~$210) for the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage variant. The 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant is priced at 1,799 yuan (~$250). Color options include Pearl Blue and Pearl White.

Besides the budget smartphone, Realme also launched the company’s first pair of Bluetooth earbuds in collaboration with renowned DJ, Alan Walker, and priced at 149 yuan.
