OPPO Launches New Flash Charge Lineup

OPPO, China’s leading global smart device brand, announced on July 15 the official release of a new flash charge lineup with new high-power wired and wireless charging technologies as well as high-power ultra-small charger.

The lineup includes four products, 125W flash charge, 65W AirVOOC wireless flash charge, ultra-small portable 50W mini SuperVOOC charger and 110W mini flash charger, which feature distinctive characteristics and advantages and mark the latest charge technological breakthrough for the mobile phone industry.

125W flash charge uses direct charging technology which is able to charge a 4000mAh battery up to 41% in 5 minutes and fully charge it in 20 minutes at its fastest rate. The system is equipped with 10 additional temperature sensors to guarantee maximum safety during charging. It is currently the most advanced fast-charging technology in the industry and will realize faster charging in the 5G era.

65W AirVOOC wireless flash charge answers to users’ need to avoid the hassle and inconvenience of charging cables and allows a 4000mAh battery to be fully charged within 30 minutes. Additionally, its conceptual wireless charger showcased by OPPO has a semiconductor cooler at its bottom for temperature control which keeps the temperature of the back of the phone at least 2℃ lower than that of only using a fan to dissipate heat.

The ultra-small portable 50W mini SuperVOOC charger exists as the world’s smallest and thinnest 50W mini SuperVOOC charger, which is convenient and light for users to carry around. Nevertheless, it is compatible with VOOC protocols and is able to charge a variety of devices including mobile phones and laptops.

OPPO’s 110W mini flash charger is built upon the combination of laminate and compact structures which minimizes its size to just 35.76 cm³ —— similar to the size of a normal 18W charger.

“We are committed to continuing to build on our expertise and advantages in the field of high power, wireless and ultra-small charging technologies in order to provide users with a safe, efficient and convenient ultra-fast charging experience” Jeff Zhang, chief charging technology scientist at OPPO commented on the release.

Zhang pointed out the necessity for the battery and charging revolution in the 5G era and emphasized OPPO’s efforts to achieve the goal of “charge-and-go.” As of June 2020, OPPO has applied for more than 2,800 global patents for flash charging.
