OPPO Find N2 Smartphone Series to Be Unveiled Dec 15

On December 8, Chinese smartphone maker OPPO announced that its OPPO INNO DAY 2022 will be held on December 14 and 15, when the company will release a new technology strategy and the Find N2 series of foldable smartphones. Pete Lau, the founder of OnePlus and chief product officer of OPPO, also published extensive information related to these new phones.

The launch conference for the OPPO Find N series was hosted by Lau, and the upcoming event might also be hosted by him. Lau said that OPPO Find N gained more than one million reservations one month after its release, ranking second in the sales volume of foldable mobile phones in the first half of 2022, also achieving the highest product satisfaction in company history.

The new OPPO Find N2 series will include the Find N2 and OPPO’s first vertical foldable flagship Find N2 Flip. Lau said that the Find N2 series adopts innovative materials and reconstructs key structural components, bringing about major breakthroughs in the weight, screen, image, and hovering experience.

A Chinese digital blogger known by account name “Experience More” revealed that the OPPO Find N2 is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+, 50MP IMX890 main camera, 48MP IMX581 and 32MP IMX709 lens. The inner screen adopts a 7.1-inch Samsung E6 screen with a resolution of 19201792 and a refresh rate of 120Hz, while the outer screen is a 5.54-inch Samsung E6 version with a resolution of 21201080 and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The device will use a 4520mAh battery supporting 67W fast charging, MariSilicon X imaging chip, and Hasselblad imaging system.

The Find N2 Flip is a small foldable mobile phone. Lau said that the reason why OPPO didn’t launch small foldable phones before was that products on the market have too many shortcomings, such as a half-day battery life, small external screens and creases, but the Find N2 Flip has reportedly solved these issues.

Previously, Weibo blogger “Digital Chat Station” said that the Find N2 Flip uses a 6.8-inch FHD+ screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz, a sub-screen of 3.26 inches, a battery of 4300mAh, supports 44W wired flash charging, and a 50MP Sony IMX890 main camera. The pricing is very appealing, while its rivals cost less than 6,000 yuan ($859), such as the Huawei Pocket S, moto razr 2022 and so on.

In addition, some bloggers have revealed that an OPPO Find N2 model codenamed “White Swan” will have three colors – black, white and green – while an OPPO Find N2 Flip model codenamed “Dragonfly” will have three colors – black, white and purple.

Lau posted images on social media showing a green hinge at the end of November, which might be adopted in OPPO’s new foldable smartphones with new colors.

In 2021, OPPO released its first self-developed imaging chip, the MariSilicon X, which has since shipped more than 10 million units. OPPO will release a second self-developed chip at the upcoming INNO DAY 2022. In an internal speech obtained by Jiemian News, Chen Mingyong, the founder and CEO of OPPO, reiterated his firm confidence in the chip industry, saying, “The chip issue is what we are determined to do and we will do well. We never expect miracles, because good chips are hard to make. We need to move forward slowly and steadily.”
