OnePlus 8 Drives 5G R&D Growth with T-Mobile, Qualcomm

Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus has connected to T-Mobile’s standalone (SA) network with a commercial device, bringing the power of 5G SA to users in the United States. Together with T-Mobile and Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., OnePlus held the first low-band SA 5G data session with its latest premium flagship smartphone the OnePlus 8.

The OnePlus Research and Development (R&D) team included a number of low-band 5G milestones in the recent field testing on the T-Mobile SA 5G network, such as the first voice over new radio (VoNR) call, the first voice call with evolved packet system (EPS) fallback and the first video call with EPS fallback.
