OnePlus 10 Series Unveiled, Featuring Snapdragon 898

Smartphone R&D and design company OnePlus normally launches an upgraded T-series model sometime in the second half of each year. With these announcements, the firm improves upon its flagship released in the first half of the year and makes up for any shortcomings in its configurations. But in 2021, perhaps because the OnePlus Nine series is well-balanced in all aspects, reports have surfaced that OnePlus has no plans to release any 9T or 9T Pro models.

Recently, some news reports have shared details about OnePlus 10, the next generation flagship smartphone.

Tipster Yogesh Brar has apparently revealed that OnePlus is developing a 10 series whose overall design is very similar to the 9 series, even pitching them as polished 9 series models.

This indicates that the OnePlus 10 series won’t look much different from the earlier models, still featuring a low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) OLED panel on the front and a dual-main camera partnered with professional camera maker Hasselblad.

It is worth noting that the OnePlus 10 series, the flagship of 2022, is bound to adopt the Snapdragon 898, Qualcomm’s new generation flagship chip.

Reports indicate that Snapdragon 898 advances by leaps and bounds again in performance. Snapdragon 898 SoC will have a three-cluster CPU design built on 4nm technology, with a Cortex-X2 super core with a frequency of 3.09GHz, a large core clock of 2.4GHz, and a small core clock of 1.8GHz.

The OnePlus 10 series is a rather long way off for now. But as per speculations, OnePlus may launch a sub-flagship the OnePlus 9RT model in the near future.

It is reported that the OnePlus 9RT features a 6.55-inch FHD+E3 AMOLED screen in the front, a display with a resolution of 2400 by 1080 pixels, a refresh rate of 120Hz, and a front-perforated straight screen design. Regarding the core configuration, the model is installed with Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 flagship processor, LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, and has three storage options: 8GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB and 12GB/256GB.
