New Model Added to BYD Qin Plus DM-i Series

According to a report by Yiche on Tuesday, BYD’s Qin Plus DM-i Executive Edition has entered the market with a price tag of 165,800 yuan ($24,853). The new car still maintains the current model design, equipped with a special 1.5 L high-efficiency engine and a pure electric cruising range of 55 km.

The new car adopts the same interior trim. The center console is equipped with a 10.1-inch manually rotating large screen, and the interior of the car is designed with three main colors: black, brown and yellow.

In terms of power, the Qin Plus DM-i adopts the brand-new DM-i system released by BYD, and the “Xiaoyun” plug-in special turbocharger 1.5 Ti high-efficiency engine with thermal efficiency as high as 43.04%. The new model’s peak power reaches 132kW. With a peak torque of 316 N • m, it can be accelerated to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds.

At present, all the configurations of the new version are not clear. According to current information, compared with the premium version with a cruising range of 55 km, the new version only uses a new wheel hub, but the price is increased by 54,000 yuan. The new car will be targeted to meet the needs of local governments.

According to data from the China Passenger Car Association, the sales volume of Chinese passenger cars in April was 1.043 million units, down 35.5% year-on-year. BYD sold 105,475 passenger cars in April, up 136.5% year-on-year, with 23,520 units from the Qin series.
