Li Auto is said to Cooperate with Nvidia, Desay SV

Leading domestic electric vehicle startup Li Auto will hold a strategic cooperation signing ceremony on Sept. 22 with chip-making giant Nvidia and the world’s leading automotive electronics solutions provider Desay SV at Li Auto Beijing Delivery Center, Chinese media Cet reported.

The newly appointed CTO of Li Auto Wang Kai, the president of Nvidia China, and the general manager of Desay SV will attend the ceremony.

Li Auto currently uses EyeQ4, the driver assistance chip manufactured by Mobileye, and its driver assistance software is developed in cooperation with Yihang AI.

Industry analysts speculated that after this strategic cooperation, Li Auto will switch to Nvidia’s assisted driving chip for its models and develop its assisted driving software through cooperation with Desay SV, according to Cet.

Li Auto’s local rival, Tesla, also replaced its driver assistance chip from MobileyeEyeQ3 to NVIDIA’s DrivePX2 around four years ago, and Tesla’s Autopilot 1.0 was iterated to Autopilot 2.0, accompanied by major changes in its driver assistance hardware architecture.
