The Lenovo Z5 Pro is yet another smartphone with a manual slider mechanism like the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 and OPPO Find X. But Lenovo claims to have beaten all other competitors in the race for reaching the highest screen-to-body ratio and a low price.
It has a 2.5D curved glass display on the front and a glossy glass back. It features an in-display fingerprint sensor and has a 6.39-inch full HD AMOLED display.
The Z5 Pro has a notchless design with extremely thin bezels. Lenovo couldn’t quite live up to the expectations of having a 100 percent screen-to-body ratio, but was still able to beat all other competitors in the market at 95 percent.
The rear camera comes with dual AI snappers at 24MP and 16MP. The slider also houses the 16MP and 8MP dual selfie cameras, accompanied by an infrared sensor for advanced facial recognition.
The Lenovo Z5 Pro comes with two memory configurations: 6GB of RAM with either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. There are no mentions of a slot for holding a micro SD card, so storage is likely non-expandable.
The Z5 Pro has a 3350mAh battery, runs on the Android-based ZUI 10, and is powered by the Snapdragon 710 AIE Turbo. Aside from not using the Snapdragon 845 like most other recently launched flagships, every other choice of hardware on the smartphone is flagship material.
This means the Z5 Pro may run slightly slower than its competitors. However, Lenovo makes up for it by setting the starting price at a low CNY 1,998 (287$) for the 6GB RAM and 64GB ROM version, 150$ cheaper than the Mi Mix 3. The 128GB storage configuration retails at CNY 2,298 ($330).
The Z5 Pro only comes in one color – Ceramic Black and will go on sale in China on Nov. 10.
