Kneron Launches A New AI Chip to Reduce the Costs of Large Models

On August 15th Hon Hai Technology Group has invested in AI startup Kneron and announced the release of a new edge computing AI chip called “KL730”.

The chip is aimed at intelligent driving and private GPT applications, aiming to reduce the high computational cost of large language models (LLMs) and potential security risks associated with cloud transmission. Kneron was established in the United States in 2015, focusing on AI chips and an AI marketplace platform. Since its establishment, it has introduced edge computing AI chips into various industries, including AIoT, intelligent driving safety, and edge servers. Its customers include Qualcomm, Toyota, Quanta Computer Inc., Chunghwa Telecom Co., Panasonic Corporation, Hanwha Systems Corp., etc.
