Huawei Unveils Smart Car Solution Innovation Center Spanning 2,000 Square Meters and Nine Laboratories

Wang Jun, Chief Operating Officer of Huawei’s Smart Car Solution BU and President of its Intelligent Driving Solution Product Line, on Tuesday said that the firm’s Smart Car Solution Innovation Center has now been finished and put into use.

Located at the Huawei Suzhou Research Institute, the Huawei Smart Car Solution Innovation Center will be mainly open to its automobile enterprise customers and partners for joint development, testing, verification and the display of achievements. Huawei will provide technical training and a laboratory environment for its partners.

The innovation center covers a total area of about 2,000 square meters, including nine exhibition areas, displaying Huawei products, capabilities that are open to the public, and joint innovation achievements of Huawei’s partners. In addition, nine laboratories are set up in the center, including MDC, fusion sensing, voice and so on. The laboratories provide development tools, testing tools, experimental equipment, and the aid of more than 100 engineers to support the development, testing and verification of joint innovation projects of its partners.

In addition, in Yangcheng Peninsula, which is not far from the innovation center, Huawei has built an industry-level intelligent and connected vehicle testing site with a reasonable layout, high efficiency and multiple testing scenarios, covering an area of 600 mu (99 acres), including three sections: a system test laboratory area, an intelligent driving test area and a dynamic performance test area. The test site is expected to be put into use next year.

At the Yangcheng Peninsula test site, Huawei adopted 3000 typical traffic accident scenarios in China as its reference, searched for typical risky characteristics of the roads through a cluster analysis, and referred to its practical experience and needs, building an infrastructure that can accommodate more than 200 testers for work.
