Huawei Unveils 2018 Revenue Goal: $102.2 billion.

On December 29 last year, Hu Houkun, then Huawei rotating CEO, delivered a New Year’s message entitled On the company’s 30th Anniversary: Build an Interconnected Smart World.

In the message, Hu unveiled two sets of data:

  1. Huawei’s annual sales revenue in 2017 is estimated to be 600 billion RMB, up about 15 percent year on year.

  2. Huawei (including Honor) shipped 153 million units of mobile phones in 2017, with a global share of over 10 percent, ranking the top three in the world and staying ahead in the Chinese market.

On the evening of January 18, Huawei held Market Awarding Ceremony, during which Huawei announced its sales goal in 2018 of $102.2 billion (655.9 billion yuan), up about 9.3 percent from 2017.

The revenue targets of Enterprise Business Group (EBG), Carrier Network Business Group (CNBG), and Consumer Business Group are $10.6 billion, $45 billion, and $44.1 billion respectively. And the revenue target of other business, which includes Huawei’s cloud business is $2.5 billion.

In 2017, Huawei’s consumer business is strong. With a total of 153 million smartphones shipped in the year, the sales revenue is estimated to be 236 billion yuan. In 2018, the sales target for the consumer business is $282.3 billion, up about 19.6 percent.
