Huawei Releases Top-End Flagship Huawei P40 Series

Huawei has launched a range of new flagship smartphones through an online conference on March 26. The Huawei P40, P40 Pro, and P40 Pro Plus are filled with flagship features, including Huawei’s 5G Kirin 990 processors, up to four rear cameras, and up to 90Hz displays. The Huawei P40 range comes with a glass rear, except the P40 Pro Plus which has a ceramic rear that is said to be more scratch-resistant.

The P40 Pro Plus has a 6.1-inch OLED Display. It has a 50MP (primary camera) + 12MP Camera + 8MP camera with 30X digital zoom, and 32MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture. It also has an Under-Display Fingerprint Sensor.

The P40 family features a powerful camera set. The Huawei P40, P40 Pro and P40 Pro Plus have triple, quad and penta rear camera sets, respectively. Starting with the Huawei P40, this phone comes with a 16MP ultra-wide-angle f/2.2 shooter, a 50MP RYYB f/1.9 camera and an 8MP telephoto. The Pro version features the 50MP main camera from before but a 40MP ultra-wide angle and a 12MP ‘super-zoom’ telephoto camera. This ‘super-zoom’ camera facilitates 10x optical zoom.

The Huawei P40 Pro Plus is set to offer the best photograph experience, as it has the same 50MP main lens along with the 40MP ultra-wide one, but then has an 8MP f/4.4 periscope lens offering 10x optical zoom, and an 8MP f/2.4 telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, plus a ToF sensor. The dual zoom lenses also allow for 20x hybrid zoom and 100x maximum zoom.

The Huawei P40 has 22.5W charging and does not support wireless charging. On the P40 Pro and Pro Plus, though, you can use 40W charging, both wired and wireless.

The new lineup will be available on March 7. The P40 Pro Plus, which comes with a 6.58-inch display, is priced at 1,399 euros ($1,535), while the P40 Pro will sell for 999 euros. The smaller P40 model, which has a 6.1-inch screen, will cost 799 euros.
