Horizon Robotics and SAIC-GM-Wuling Collaborate in Mass Production of Intelligent Vehicles

Horizon Robotics and SAIC-GM-Wuling formally reached a strategic cooperation arrangement on January 14. According to the agreement, both parties will rely on their respective advantages in technological accumulation and industrial resources across the fields of automobiles and AI. They will also promote continuous integration and innovation in Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), automatic driving and vehicle-mounted intelligent interaction.

As part of the agreement, Horizon Robotics will provide intelligent driving solutions, with a full range of “Journey” chips as the core, to help SAIC-GM-Wuling with intelligent vehicle layout.

The two sides have carried out in-depth cooperation and made substantial joint progress since the beginning of 2021. During the first half of 2022, Horizon’s Matrix Mono assisted driving solution, based on the Journey 2 chip, will begin to equip various models produced by SAIC-GM-Wuling. In addition, Horizon’s Halo vehicle intelligent interactive solution based on the Journey 2 chip will equip SAIC-GM-Wuling’s KiWi EV model in mass production.

In order to meet the needs of continuously upgraded intelligent driving experience, the two sides are still exploring R&D of intelligent functions for higher-end models, jointly creating multi-level automatic driving and continuously evolving vehicle-mounted intelligent interactive functions. Furthermore, both parties with work together to build an intelligent computing platform with high performance and excellent computing power, and accelerate the large-scale mass production of high-level automatic driving functions based on the Journey 5 chip.
