Chinese consumer electronics firm Honor officially announced on July 14 that a new product launch event will be held on July 21. According to official promotional material, this event will showcase the new Honor Pad 8, MagicBook, smart screen product, Honor X40i and FlyPods headphones.

Previously, Honor released the configurations and price of its new X40i smartphone model. This device is 7.43mm thin and weighs 175g, with a screen proportion of 93.6%. It adopts a Dimensity 700 processor, a 50 MP main camera, and 40W fast charging.

For this smartphone model, Honor provides its users with three memory choices – 8GB+128GB, 8GB+256GB and 12GB+256GB – with prices of 1,599 yuan ($238), 1,799 yuan ($267) and 1,999 yuan ($297) respectively. This model will start sales at 10:08 am on July 22.

Strategy Analytics, a well-known data research company, recently released a report showing that the smartphone wholesale revenue of Honor increased by 291% year-on-year. This is the fastest growth of all brands in this quarter. Sales of other major Chinese manufacturers all declined during the same period.

The report also showed that in just five quarters, Honor’s revenue has jumped to sixth in the world, and it already accounted for a 3% global market share in Q1 2022. However, Honor is mainly confined to the Asia-Pacific region, especially within the Chinese market. The Middle East and Africa are other regions where Honor’s revenue has increased tenfold, but its shipments are not quite as high.
