Chinese Battery Maker CATL and NETA Auto Reach Strategic Cooperation

On Monday, leading Chinese battery manufacturer Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Ltd. (CATL) has formally signed a strategic agreement with NETA Auto, a brand under Hozon Auto. As part of the deal, CATL will participate in the D2 financing round for NETA Auto and will start cooperation in the fields of technology research and development, as well as offer a supply chain guarantee.

The two sides will rely on their advantages of industrial resources, technology and property rights to jointly promote the high-quality development of the intelligent and environmentally friendly automobiles.

CATL will not only provide a guarantee for NETA Auto’s power battery, but also will jointly develop innovative integration technology of new energy vehicles with the EV maker.

In October, NETA Auto delivered 8,107 vehicles, up 294% year-on-year. In the past 10 months, it has delivered 49,534 cars, an increase of 398% year-on-year. Up to now, its total delivery volume has reached 75,837 units.

NETA Auto launched NETA V Pro on November 3, equipped with automobile security guarding technology of its partner Qihoo 360 Technology. The vehicle has three core functions: cleaning system cache, protecting privacy and securing the apps on users’ smartphones.
