BYD is planning to establish a network of 100 dealerships and aims to achieve an annual sales target of 30,000 units by 2025.
In the first three quarters of this year, BYD’s cumulative sales reached 2.08 million vehicles, with a year-on-year growth of 75% globally, second only to Tesla.
BYD officially entered the Japanese market in January this year. In order to further expand its market share, BYD plans to sell 30,000 electric vehicles in the country annually by 2025.
And in order to achieve this goal, BYD also plans to have 100 dealerships in Japan by 2025.
BYD’s first showroom in Tokyo, Japan, called “BYD AUTO Ikebukuro,” officially opened on August 26th. The showcased vehicle in the showroom is BYD’s first global new energy passenger car, the BYD ATTO 3. In addition, highly anticipated models such as the BYD DOLPHIN and BYD SEAL are expected to be launched one after another.
However, it will be quite challenging to reach the target of selling 300 cars per year in the Japanese market since existing dealerships already exceed the market average with annual sales of 200 vehicles.
