On July 5, Chinese new energy vehicle company BYD announced its cooperation with Louwman, a European auto dealer group, to jointly provide new energy vehicles (NEVs) for the Dutch market.
Louwman Group, as BYD’s passenger car dealership partner in the Netherlands, will open offline stores in several Dutch cities and will provide a full set of sales and after-sales services for BYD NEVs through a combination of online platform and offline stores. From September this year, local consumers will be able to visit BYD’s pioneer store in Amsterdam to experience the latest BYD vehicles.
BYD is the first traditional automaker in the world to announce that it is discontinuing production of fuel-fired vehicles and focusing exclusively on new energy vehicles. The company has technologies such as Blade Battery, DM-i Super Hybrid and e-Platform 3.0. Founded in 1923, Louwman Group is one of the largest car dealership groups in Europe.
Michael Shu, General Manager of BYD Europe and its International Cooperation Division, said: “We are very pleased to reach a strategic cooperation with Louwman Group. Louwman is an experienced and well-established dealership group with strong recognition in the Dutch passenger car market, and its large local resources and quality platform will help BYD vehicles quickly enter the local market and build brand awareness. We look forward to working with Louwman Group to provide consumers with high-quality EVs.”
Eric Louwman, President of Louwman Group, said, “BYD is a leading manufacturer of NEVs with a global reputation for its leading battery technology and outstanding product performance. We are very pleased to partner with BYD to provide the Dutch market with green and high quality NEVs. This fits well with the Louwman Group’s brand vision. It is worth mentioning that many of our major customers are already interested in many of BYD’s NEVs.”
