BYD ATTO 3 Standard Range Version Launched in Thailand

Chinese new energy vehicle firm BYD announced on November 13 that the standard range version of its ATTO 3 model (the Yuan Plus in China), featuring an NEDC of up to 410 km, has officially been launched in Thailand for a price of 1,099,900 baht ($30,617). As the first BYD passenger car to enter international markets, the Yuan Plus was released in China in February this year, then in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and many other countries.

The Yuan Plus was released in Colombia in October this year, following other Latin American countries including Costa Rica, Uruguay and the Dominican Republic. Since 2020, the Chinese carmaker has cooperated with local dealer Motorysa to sell its full range of new energy passenger cars in Colombia.

The Yuan Plus is of great significance to BYD’s overseas layout development. According to the latest sales data, the company exported 9,529 NEVs in October, up 23.2% from the previous month, of which 7,130 exported units were Yuan series models, exhibiting a major increase. The Yuan Plus is also the first pure electric SUV based on BYD’s e-Platform 3.0, and is equipped with the latest technologies such as blade battery.

In addition to products, BYD has opened many overseas stores and factories, which will also make new progress in October, with the Brazilian market as the core of its current efforts.

At the end of October, BYD announced that it had opened its first store in Brasilia alongside Saga, the largest dealer group in Brazil. Up to now, BYD has established 10 offline dealer stores in Brazil. It is expected to start business in 45 cities in Brazil by the end of this year and set up 100 stores by the end of 2023. Meanwhile, the firm reached a strategic cooperation agreement with the Brazilian division of Santander, a leader in the domestic auto finance industry, in auto finance.

BYD announced in September that its first overseas passenger car factory had officially been established in Thailand, and was expected to start operations in 2024, with an annual production capacity of 150,000 vehicles.

In terms of its overseas energy storage business, BYD revealed that the world’s largest single-phase energy storage power station supplied by the company’s energy storage subsidiary has been successfully put into commercial operation on the west coast of the United States. In this independent energy storage power station, BYD Energy Storage provides 1500V grid-level energy storage product BYD Cube T28 with an energy storage capacity of nearly 1.7 GWh. BYD disclosed in its October production and sales report that in the month, the total installed capacity of power batteries and energy storage batteries for new energy vehicles was about 10.18 GWh.
