Beverage Firm Genki Forest to Build Sixth Jiangsu Factory

Chinese beverage brand Genki Forest announced on February 25 that its sixth self-built factory will be established in Taicang, Jiangsu Province, covering an area of 120 mu (19.8 acres). It is estimated that six production lines will be opened at the facility, and that the annual output value will reach 2.4 billion yuan ($380 million) after the commencement of operations.

Since 2020, in order to gradually improve its supply chains and product quality, Genki Forest has successively built five factories in Anhui, Guangdong, Tianjin, Hubei and Sichuan.

Taicang is one of the most dynamic areas in the Yangtze River Delta. Genki Forest’s factory can greatly improve logistics efficiency and product R&D to meet the needs of local consumers.

The Taicang factory will reportedly make full use of clean energy, such as wind and solar. In October last year, Genki Forest officially announced its strategy of “three 0 factories,” hoping to gradually realize the goals of “0 chemical preservatives,” “0 pollution” and “0 carbon emissions,” so as to decrease the firm’s burden on the environment.

Li Bingqian, general manager of Genki Forest’s Production Center, said that the Taicang factory will introduce automatic aseptic carbonic acid production lines, with the highest safety standards in the industry. The company also refuses to add chemical preservatives such as sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate in all beverages. In 2022, it is estimated that 24 high-end aseptic production lines will enter operations.
