Beijing stops launching new sharing bikes and to issue guidance

On September 7, the Beijing Municipal Commission of Transport convened managers of the district management departments and 15 sharing bike companies. After listening to the opinions and advices on sharing bikes’ delivery and management, the commission decided to stop putting new sharing bikes into markets. All the sharing bike companies show their understanding and support for the new decision. It is understood that 11 cities including Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Wuhan have suspended adding new sharing bikes to strengthen control over the total amount and urban order.

According to the latest statistics, the 15 sharing bike companies in Beijing have put 2.35 million bikes on the market, which boosts the green communing and eases traffic congestion. Excessive bikes and road occupation shadow the urban traffic order, urban landscape and public life.
