AR Smart Glasses Brand INMO Bags $10M in Round-A Financing

AR smart glasses brand INMO Technology has recently completed round-A financing worth nearly $10 million, featuring exclusive investment from Hello Group Inc., and with MM Capital acting as the exclusive financial consultant. The newly raised funds will be used for the construction and design of INMO content, and Hello Group will help promote the development of its social entertainment content.

Established in 2020, INMO had previously received financing totaling over 100 million yuan ($14.73 million) from Matrix Partners, Eagles Fund, and 37Games. Its main product, INMO Air, is augmented reality glasses which were released in July 2021. Last month, the product entered mass production and officially entered the delivery stage. At present, it sells for 2,999 yuan, as seen on the website of JD Mall.

INMO Air weighs just over 70 grams and adopts a wireless design. Its appearance is similar to that of ordinary glasses, and it can be used continuously for up to 5.5 hours. Technically, the thickness of its waveguide plates, the core part of the product for AR display, is only 1.5 mm, which is lower than the industry’s standard of 2mm.

The computing framework for the INMO Air is significantly tailored based on the Android system. Other than INMO’s self-developed applications, many Android third-party applications are also available for users.

In the future, the company will continue to optimize its software, hardware and computing system. The firm will reportedly integrate more functions and content into AR glasses, in addition to current application scenarios such as entertainment and business.
