Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus’s CEO Pete Lau unveiled in its community forums the visual renders of its upcoming flagship product due to launch in October.
“I would now like to officially announce that OnePlus, together with Qualcomm and EE, is launching the very first OnePlus 5G smartphone,” announces OnePlus CEO Pete Lau at the company's London launch event “Go Beyond Speed”.

Looks like OnePlus fans will be getting a treat sooner than expected as OnePlus has announced in a press release that it will be showcasing its first 5G prototype smartphone at MWC 2019 (Mobile World Congress).
On Friday, Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus celebrated the success of making the world’s first 5G tweet, according to a Twitter post by Pete Lau, the company’s founder and CEO.
Pete Lau, the CEO and founder of OnePlus announced the release of the OnePlus 6 Red in the official OnePlus online community on July 2. Previously, OnePlus 6 was only available in Mirror Black, Midnight Black and Silk White.
OnePlus has sold out one million of its flagship OnePlus 6 within only 22 days of release. Pete Lau, CEO of OnePlus, expressed his gratitude towards the OnePlus community, “we are touched by the trust that one million people have placed in us and are grateful for the loyalty they have displayed.”
The OnePlus 5 phone has been “sold out” for four months, according to the OnePlus website. That “sold out” notice could mean the company has been unable to keep up with demand.
