Chinese chip company SemiDrive recently launched an intelligent cockpit and parking integrated solution based on the high-performance automotive processor X9U. The solution integrates an intelligent cockpit, 360-degree views, and parking functions on a single chip. It provides users with a better driving experience while ensuring safety through optimized system BOM (bill of materials) costs.
The X9U processor has strong performance capabilities with the CPU computing power of up to 100KDMIPS and supports up to 10 HD display outputs covering conventional smart cockpit functions such as HUD (head-up display), dashboard, central control display, electronic rearview mirror, and co-pilot seat entertainment.
At the same time, the high-performance GPU of X9U can process four real-time HD surround-view cameras supporting stitching and rendering of 360-degree panoramic views. In addition, the built-in high-performance AI acceleration unit is used for parking space recognition and obstacle detection to achieve fast and efficient auxiliary parking.
The cockpit-parking integrated solution reduces the cost of equipping vehicles with independent controllers for parking systems while lowering barriers for users who require applications such as 360-degree panoramic views or APA (automatic parking assistance).
Later this year, SemiDrive will launch an integrated solution for driving and parking. Additionally, they will introduce a complete cockpit-driving-parking integration solution.
As electronic and electrical architecture evolves in the automotive industry chain towards convergence and centralization, intelligent cockpits are also evolving towards cross-domain integration by integrating ADAS features like 360-degree views and automatic parking assistance onto their platforms which were previously separate from those controlling vehicle movement. This helps automakers reduce costs while providing richer intelligent travel experiences for more users, ultimately leading to centralized computing architecture.
