“Shediao” originates from the famous novel “The Legend of The Condor Heroes” written by Jin Yong (Louis Cha). The homepage of the official game website shows six points-in-time, each of which corresponds to a different place and animation. Differing from the typical method of forming teams, the new game emphasizes a single player’s adventure and exploration.
According to NetEase‘s financial report, its revenue in 2021 was 87.606 billion yuan ($13.12 billion), 72% of which came from online game services. NetEase said at that time that it would soon launch new titles such as “Naraka: Bladepoint” and “Diablo Immortal”.
In early May, Sensor Tower released a list of Chinese mobile game publishers who were taking in the most revenue through the global App Store and Google Play in the month of April. The data shows a total of 38 Chinese game manufacturers made it into the Top100 of the revenue list for publishers. Thirty-eight manufacturers earned more than $2.3 billion in total, while Tencent, NetEase and miHoYo held the top three positions.
