Leaked Huawei P50 Pro Render Hints at Curved Display, Single Punch-hole Camera

Several details of the design and specs of Huawei’s new flagship smartphone, the P50 Pro, have surfaced online in a leaked render by reputed tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer.

The phone from the Chinese manufacturer appears to share a lot of design similarities with the P40 Pro, including curved edges running along its display’s flanks, according to a post published on Friday by Hemmerstoffer, better known as OnLeaks.

According to the leak, the P50 Pro will have a 6.6-inch display in a 159 x 73mm wide (6.26 x 2.87in) chassis. Instead of the P40 Pro’s selfie arrangement of a dual-camera cutout, it is likely to have a centrally-mounted punch-hole on the phone’s display for a single camera.

Hemmerstoffer also claims that the magnetic earpiece speaker system found on the P40 Series has been removed and will be replaced by a conventional setup. Other details including chipset, camera specs and battery remain a mystery at this point.

According to a Sina Tech report, the Huawei P50 series will be “officially equipped” with Harmony OS, the company’s homegrown operating system, and the device is expected to launch in Q1 2021.
