On July 3, Great Wall Motors held a launch event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, announcing the launch of its Tank 300 off-road vehicle in Saudi Arabia while also giving a look at the Tank 500. This is the first time that the Tank brand has been made available overseas.
Great Wall Motors and local dealers have cooperated since 2017, and both parties have worked together to reshape the country’s residents’ impression of Chinese automobile brands. In the future, Great Wall Motors will upgrade the user operation mode of the Tank brand for the Saudi market, and develop the Tank brand with global users through Internet technology.
According to market data, the CAGR of Great Wall Motors from 2018 to 2021 reached 204%, ranking first among Chinese brands in Saudi Arabia, and the market share of Great Wall Motor SUV and GWM Pickup exceeded 5%.
In the past two years, thanks to the successful overseas expansion of third-generation global strategic models such as the Haval H6, Haval JOLION, POER and Haval Big Dog, the overseas sales of Great Wall Motors has increased significantly.
Up to now, the global products created by Great Wall Motors based on the three major technology brands have entered dozens of countries and regions. In Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Chile and other advantageous markets, Great Wall Motors is accelerating the launch of its products worldwide.
On June 8, Great Wall Motors released its production and sales data for May 2022. In May of this year, Great Wall Motors sold a total of 80,062 new vehicles, an increase of 48.9% month-on-month. Among them, 12,317 vehicles were sold overseas, an increase of 59.3% month-on-month. With the resumption of supply chain production, issues regarding the supply of components and parts were significantly alleviated, and the sales volume of Great Wall Motors picked up steadily throughout the month.
