Faraday Future (FF) announced on July 30 (PDT) the completion of its first body-in-white FF 91 electric vehicle (EV) in its Hanford assembly plant in Los Angeles. The first batch of the luxury EV is said to be ready in December.
FF91, first revealed at the January 2017 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, is the company’s first production vehicle. FF 91 had undergone over two years of intensive validation testing, according to the company’s announcement.

The order book has been open since the start of 2018 and first deliveries are due starting in December of this year through to the middle of 2019.
The body-in-white (BiW) arrived in the Hanford factory two days ahead of schedule. New FF91 BiW features some cutting-edge manufacturing technologies applied to the processes of aluminum welding or body joining.
When it was first unveiled, the FF 91 EV was seen as a fierce Tesla competitor, with an estimated 0-60 mph acceleration below three seconds and an expected range of 300+ miles with a single charge, according to its website. This new vehicle is said to embody FF’s vision to create a shared mobility ecosystem that empowers people to move, connect, breathe, and live freely.
FF Founder and Global CEO, YT Jia or Jia Yueting, said that the new all-electric vehicle will stick to the UP2U (User Planning To User) approach. “In the future, each user will have the opportunity to provide input and witness the creation of their own personal FF 91 along the bespoke production line at FF Hanford,” Jia said.
