According to the latest survey report released by market research organization CINNO Research last Friday, among the top five brands in China’s smartphone market in October this year, Apple has greatly improved year-on-year and month-on-month, and returned to the top of monthly sales with the iPhone 13, which was the smartphone sales champion in October with about 2.67 million units sold.
Apple’s iPhone 13 series drove Apple’s sales to increase by 32.5% month-on-month and 43.6% year-on-year during the month of launch. In October, its sales jumped further to 6.5 million units, up by 78% month-on-month and 155% year-on-year.
Due to the hot sales of the iPhone 13 series, four other brands all showed a month-on-month decline, among which OPPO maintained a relatively stable market sales situation, ranking second to Apple. The chip shortage has affected the smartphone production capacity of Apple and Xiaomi, while OPPO, Vivo and other brands ensured the normal iteration and production rhythm of products, thanks to their mature and stable supply chain management and control systems. OPPO continues to stand firm at the high end through the Find X3 Photographer Edition, and the newly released Reno7 series will also boost OPPO’s sales in the fourth quarter.
CINNO Research analysts said that although the sales volume of Huawei’s Honor smartphones decreased by 6% month-on-month in October, it still showed a slightly positive growth year-on-year, which was the only positive growth year-on-year in the sales volume of China’s top Android smartphones, mainly due to the Honor Play5 series and Magic3 series, which entered the market in the third quarter.
