Tesla’s New Model 3 Enters Mass Production at Gigafactory Shanghai

On August 17th, it was reported that the production of the new model of Tesla‘s Model 3 has started at Gigafactory Shanghai.

The Model 3 will further reduce the number of components and simplify the interior by adopting an integrated die-casting process. With the planned reduction in component count, this could potentially result in a cost reduction of up to 14%. Based on this speculation, it is possible that the price of the new Model 3 when launched in October may be lower than the previous version. Tesla has initially set a monthly production capacity for the new Model 3 at 10,000 units, with a potential output of around 7,000 units in August. The Fremont factory in California will also begin producing the new Model 3 shortly after.
