QCraft and Dongfeng Yuexiang Partner Up With Sharing Bus
The Sharing Bus, an unmanned vehicle jointly developed by QCraft and Dongfeng Yuexiang, was unveiled on Wednesday. It will start internal trial operations between Chuanjiangchi Metro Station and Chunsun in the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone (WHDZ), creating an unmanned metro transfer route based on vehicle infrastructure cooperative systems and exploring a new sustainable operation business model.
When it is officially put into operation, the Sharing Bus will solve the “last three kilometers” travel troubles for local citizens with the innovative mode of “rail transit + unmanned urban traffic micro-circulation.” By then, it will mainly realize short-distance commuter transfers and provide intelligent transfer services for about 50,000 residents in 15 communities along the routes.
In addition, the mode of “rail transit + unmanned urban traffic micro-circulation” can effectively guide the traffic flow of main roads to the urban traffic micro-circulation road network through fixed-point transfers and special lanes, thus relieving the traffic pressure on the main roads around the area and improving urban traffic efficiency.
The Sharing Bus is a fully unmanned vehicle without a traditional driver’s seat. Relying on the Driven-by-QCraft, QCraft’s self-developed automated driving solution focused on complex urban traffic scenarios, the Sharing Bus not only has 360-degree blind zone sensing capability, but also has full redundant design of sensors, computing platforms and other modules, which ensures the safety and reliability of unmanned driving to the maximum extent.
In addition, combined with the vehicle infrastructure cooperative systems in WHDZ, the Sharing Bus has realized L4-level automated driving capability on open roads. It can drive safely and reliably on urban open roads at a speed of 20 to 50 kilometers per hour, and flexibly respond to all kinds of complex urban traffic scenarios.
In the past year or so, QCraft has successfully conducted tests and operations in 10 cities around the world, including Beijing, Shenzhen and Suzhou, and deployed 10 vehicle models, as well as a fleet size of over 100 units.
