Netease Mobile Game to Add Tencent’s Domestic Animation IP

NetEase’s mobile game “Dream Chaser: The Showbiz” announced on Tuesday that it would be listed on December 24th. Tencent Animation also announced that it has reached an agreement with the mobile game developer to provide a large number of intellectual property (IP) assets for its products in the game.

Players of the game, “Dream Chaser: the Showbiz”, will become an unknown actress. After navigating through a series of challenges, the virtual character can go on to become a top actress through film work, paid advertising, making friends in the entertainment circle, and other real-life scenarios in the entertainment world.

In order to give players a better experience, the game operator has also prepared a large number of high-quality film and soap opera scripts that cover science fiction, cosplay, love, history, and many others.

Mobile games are a huge market in the mainland of China. The Game Working Committee of the China Audio-Video and Digital Publishing Association released its 2021 China Game Industry Report on December 16. The report shows that in 2021, the actual sales revenue of China’s game market was 296.513 billion yuan ($47 billion). Mobile games’ revenue reached 225.538 billion yuan, accounting for 76.06% of the total revenue.
