Most Highly Anticipated Chinese Smartphones at MWC 2020

Mobile World Congress 2020 (MWC), the biggest mobile event of the year in Barcelona, was set to debut with many of the year’s top smartphones, smartwatches, computers and innovative devices. Many mobile phone brands like Huawei, OPPO, Samsung, vivo, Sony and more are expected to launch new flagship phones at MWC 2020. Unfortunately the event has been cancelled due to the coronavirus, but below have a look at the most high anticipated Chinese smartphones set to debut.

Huawei Mate Xs MWC 2020

Huawei has announced its global launch press conference will be held on February 23 at MWC 2020. Previously Huawei CEO Yu Chengdong suggested that the Huawei P40 and P40 Pro will be released in March 2020 rather than in February, and the new teaser photo may also hint that Huawei’s updated folding phone, the Huawei Mate Xs, was set to debut at MWC 2020.

OPPO Find X2 MWC 2020

OPPO has confirmed its next flagship phone, the OPPO Find X2 will be launched at MWC 2020 in Barcelona. The android phone will be one of the first to be powered by the newest Snapdragon 865 chipset and is very likely to sport a 6.5-inch curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz sampling rate. As for the camera, OPPO Find X2 has been teased to use a custom Sony sensor. Other confirmed specs from OPPO CEO Brian Shen include a 2K resolution, SDR to HDR content conversion, 1200 nits of brightness in HDR and 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut.

Realme X50 Pro 5G MWC 2020

Realme’s second 5G smartphone, the X50 Pro 5G, was set to launch at what would have been the company’s first-ever participation at the Mobile World Congress on February 24, 2020. The upcoming phone will be an updated version of the Realme X50 5G, which was Realme’s first 5G phone released in January in Beijing. The Realme X50 5G packs a 6.57-inch screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and is powered by a Snapdragon 765G chipset with an integrated 5G modem; and Realme X50 Pro 5G is going to use flagship-level Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor supported by the Snapdragon X55 5G modem.

Vivo Apex 5G Withdraw MWC 2020

Vivo previously confirmed that it would introduce the Vivo Apex at MWC 2020 this year, however, it now has decided to withdraw the debut of the new concept phone because of the coronavirus. The company may soon release the Apex 2020 concept phone via alternative channels such as online broadcast like the Xiaomi Mi 10’s launch, rather than a traditional press conference.

Honor MWC 2020

Huawei’s sub-brand Honor was the first company to confirm a press conference at MWC 2020, where it was to release the Honor View 30 Pro and Honor 9X Pro. The Honor 9X Pro, an upgraded version of the affordable Honor 9X, launched at the end of 2019, and the Honor V30 has also been available globally since November 2019. All these phones were set to have global launches at MWC 2020.

ZTE 5G at MWC 2020

ZTE has cancelled its press conference in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak, however, it will still participate in MWC 2020 and showcase its new 5G solutions and devices. A new generation ZTE Axon 5G smartphone and mid-range Blade series handsets were due to feature at MWC 2020.

Xiaomi Mi 10 series MWC 2020

Xiaomi has announced its new flagship Xiaomi Mi 10 will be introduced on February by a way of a pure online live broadcast. As per leaked or official news, the upcoming Mi 10 smartphone will be powered by latest Snapdragon 865 chipset, AMOLED screens with a 90Hz refresh rate, and supports 50W wired charging, 30W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging. The handset will be a powerful camera phone, with a rear quad-camera, a punch-hole selfie camera, including an amazing 100MP 8K movie camera combined with a 5x zoom. The Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro were expected to be launched worldwide at MWC 2020.
