Geely Achieves H1 Auto Sales of 614,000 Units

Zhejiang-based automaker Geely released its financial report for the first half of 2022 on August 18, showing that it had achieved operating income of 58.2 billion yuan ($8.57 billion) during the period, a year-on-year increase of 29%, while the total sales volume was 614,000 units, down 3% year-on-year.

In the first half of 2022, the sales volume of Geely’s new energy sector increased by 14.4% to 17.9%. With the optimization of its vehicle structure, Geely’s sales revenue and gross profit from each vehicle have also increased by 21.1% year-on-year to 102,000 yuan, and by 9.9% to 16,000 yuan, respectively.

Also in H1, Geely’s new energy vehicle brand Zeekr completed the delivery of 19,013 vehicles, creating the fastest delivery speed of all high-end smart pure electric brands in China, with an average large order amount exceeding 335,000 yuan. Through upgrades of software and hardware, Zeekr has evolved in fields such as intelligent driving and intelligent cockpits. With the acceleration of delivery and the evolution of the product experience, the user ecosystem of Zeekr is also booming. As of July 31, 396 self-built charging stations of Zeekr had been built, achieving 66% of its 2022 target of 600 stations.

Geely’s Geometry Auto has reorganized its brand positioning. By creating more fashionable and lighter pure electric products, Geometry achieved a rapid growth of 293% in the first half of this year. In the second half of this year, together with Huawei’s HarmonyOS, it plans to build a “super-electric digital cockpit” and launch two new cars, the G6 and M6.

In the first half of this year, the average sales revenue of Lynk&Co’s products reached 152,000 yuan. As the first large SUV based on the scalable product architecture (SPA) platform, the Lynk&Co 09 was priced at over 300,000 yuan. Geely plans to achieve 100% electrification of Lynk&Co by 2025.

In terms of intelligent cockpits, in the first half of 2022, Geely has upgraded many models from distributed electronic architecture GEEA1.0 to centralized electronic architecture GEEA2.0. At the same time, the latest Qualcomm 8155 chip realizes OTA upgrade of intelligent cockpit of many models. It plans to complete about 10 OTA upgrades this year. Geely will also mass-produce the new cockpit operating system “One OS” this year.

In terms of intelligent driving, Geely focuses on “L2 + L3” technologies. From the fourth quarter of this year, a new generation of “NOA automated driving system” will be applied to the latest products of Lynk&Co and Geometry.
