DJI Releases New UAV: Strong Performance, Light Weight, Priced 4,999 yuan

DJI once joked that its only competitor is DJI. That competition continues with its Yu Mavic Air, a new UAV product released last night. Yu Mavic Air is smaller than that last year’s Yu Mavic Pro and a bit larger DJI Xiao Spark. But Yu Mavic Air is more professional and has better specifications.

According to the specifications, the weight of the Mavic Air is only 430 grams, and it comes equipped with a 4K triaxial camera. The camera sensor is 1/2.3 inch with 12 megapixels and an F/2.8 aperture. The equivalent focal length is 24mm.

The camera supports recording 4K video at 30fps and a data rate of 100Mbps. It can also record 1080p video at 120fps video. Yu Mavic Air has 21-minute duration of flight and maximum speed of 68.4 kilometers per hour, with three binocular vision sensors in the front, mid and below directions. Mavic Air supports intelligent imaging technology on Xiao Spark.

DJI showed its strengths in design. Mavic Air adopts a classic 3D-folding technology: even the remote control can be folded to a certain degree.

The release of Yu Mavic Air has outperformed all UAV devices, including the Spark. Mavic Air stands out among all UAVs as it is equipped with enhanced imaging features, better battery life and a clever and light design. The UAV is priced 4,999 yuan, and the all-around package is priced 6,399 yuan. It is available on DJI’s website, and the delivery date is expected to be January 28.
