“You can not only book flights, hotels, trains on Ctrip, but also rent cars,” Ctrip CEO Sun Jie said at the conference. She added that Ctrip is optimistic about the domestic car rental market and will put more efforts into the development of its car rental business.

According to data from Ctrip, its car rental service has recovered the fastest in the industry after the COVID-19 pandemic. Data shows the total sales of Ctrip’s car rental service so far has exceeded those from the same period last year. In addition, the sales growth rate of its car rental service this year is expected to reach 30% while the year-on-year growth rate of users will reach 40%, the company said.

With more than 400 million registered users and roughly 200 million monthly active travelers globally, Ctrip has also added its car rental service in other apps like Alipay, JD.com, Baidu and Tencent.

In collaborations with more than 2,000 car rental companies across the country, Ctrip’s car rental service covers more than 700 cities in China and offers roughly 200,000 rental cars with over 2,000 types.
