Baidu Launches AI Chat App WiseAI For Global Users

Following the launch of an AI virtual chat community App “Xiaokan Planet” in China, Baidu launched a similar AI chat App named “WiseAI” for the overseas market, Tech Planet reported.

This new program enables users to chat with AI chat robots in a safe space. For example, when users feel depressed, tired or find it difficult to talk with others, AI robots will provide round-the-clock services. According to the official introduction of the product, the AI robot’s advanced algorithm and cutting-edge natural language processing technology can efficiently conduct complex dialogues, which can help with moodiness, relieve stress and improve overall health according to user’s preferences.

In addition, this AI chat product has the ability to understand and respond to natural language commands. Unlike other chatbots that rely on pre-programmed responses or limited keyword recognition, WiseAI uses advanced machine learning algorithms to interpret and respond to users’ messages.

Baidu‘s ChatGPT-style Ernie Bot will be launched on March 16. Baidu founder, chairman and CEO Robin Li and Baidu Chief Technology Officer Wang Haifeng will attend the launch conference in Beijing.

AI has become the core business of Baidu. At the beginning of this year, Robin Li said at Baidu‘s AI Developer Conference that as the threshold for technology application continues to decrease, creators will usher in the golden decade of AI.

Chinese Internet companies have already started tailoring their businesses to AI. For example, Tencent will carry out advanced research and application exploration based on its previous technical reserves in AI large models, machine learning algorithms and natural language processing. Meanwhile, ByteDance has been developing its own ChatGPT-like products and R&D of AI-generated content (AIGC). It is expected that a large model will be launched in the middle of this year.

Since February, Baidu, Alibaba, JD.com, Kuaishou and other companies have posted adverts for job postings related to ChatGPT and AIGC, with a monthly salary of up to 100,000 yuan ($14,543). According to the 2022 Report on Top Talents of AI released by Maimai, a China-based career and social-networking platform, the degree major specializing in big data engineering at Tsinghua University, Software College of Zhejiang University as well as the degree major of computer software and theory at Peking University, are the most attractive for AI developers.
