37Games Obtains Chinese Regulatory Approval for Several New Games

Gangzhou-based game developer 37Games said at an online performance briefing on Tuesday afternoon that many of its 2022 games, such as “Dream Sailing,” “Air Fortress: Sailing,” “Last Primitive Man” and “Dawn Project,” have obtained regulatory approval for publishing and operations in China. The specific launch times for the games are up to R&D, operations and market factors.

Many new games, such as SLG’s mobile game “Ant Legion” with an insect theme, its “Three Kingdoms: Heroes & Glory” with the theme of war between nations, and card mobile game “Code C6” with a multi-civilization theme, have been launched or tested overseas.

On the evening of April 25, 37Games released its 2021 financial report. It shows that during the reporting period, the company achieved operating income of 16.216 billion yuan ($2.41 billion), a year-on-year increase of 12.62%. The net profit attributable to shareholders was 2.876 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.15%.

The firm’s international business reached a new high, with overseas game business revenue of 4.777 billion yuan, an increase of 122.94% over the same period of last year. In addition, 37Games expected the net profit attributed to parent company owner’s in the first quarter of 2022 to be 740-770 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 533.71%-559.40%.

37Games has been working on overseas markets since 2012, and is one of the “veterans” of China’s game industry internationalization. With years of experience in overseas operations, its global strategic layout has made remarkable breakthroughs in recent years. The highest monthly revenue of mobile games in overseas markets exceeds 700 million yuan, with more than 55 million newly registered users and more than 8.5 million monthly active users.

As for products, 37Games forms a product matrix based on MMORPG, SLG, cards and simulation operations in overseas markets. Based on certain market features, it focuses on issuing different types of games in different regions. Regarding distribution and promotion, 37Games engages in customized operations and promotion for different markets.
